EnvironFocus Show and Tell – The West Africa Golf Tour (WAGT)

The environmental impacts of the golf industry have been identified and if improperly managed poses a threat to the environment. Understanding this, the West African Golf Tour (WAGT) has partnered with EnvironFocus Limited to help reduce its carbon footprint in communities they tour. WAGT will be doing the following:

  1. Eliminate single-use plastic bottled water used by Golfers during its tournaments and provide safe and clean drinking water using the LifeStraw Community and LifeStraw Go. For more information on these products click here.
  2. Provide environmental friendly golf courses within their educational program run by its Foundation.

Golf is unique from other sports because in golf as in life, players experience the bad and good and the ups and downs of the game. Through the acquisition of its inherent golf values, such as integrity, confidence, honesty and responsibility, young people will learn life skills that can be vital for their development.

With that objective, the West Africa Golf Tour Foundation offers golf education programmes to children and youngsters in elementary and secondary schools in order to introduce and encourage the practice of the game among children and youngsters. See pictures from the WAGT Foundation School Training Program below.
